Staff Support

The Novi Educational Foundation recognizes outstanding educators through its Educator of the Year award, providing recognition and support to those who demonstrate exceptional dedication and innovation in teaching. Additionally, the foundation offers grants for new staff members to facilitate their transition and enhance their contributions to the educational community. Moreover, it fosters professional development and collaboration through fellowships aimed at furthering excellence in education within the Novi community.

Educator of the Year

Every year, NEF and NCSD celebrate and honor educators who have gone above and beyond to support their students and their colleagues in four categories: elementary school, middle school, high school, and ancillary services. In order to be considered, the educator must be nominated by both a peer and a student. The top nominee in each category is then further reviewed for overall Educator of the Year for the district. The Educator of the Year in each category is surprised with a check to celebrate their accomplishments. As part of the award, Feldman Automotive Groups awards the winning educator a 2-year lease.

New Staff Grants

At the beginning of each school year, the NEF welcomes new teachers to the district with start-up grants. Thanks to community partners like Meijer and Staples, we provide new teachers gift cards to help set up their classrooms.

Fellowship

New in the 2023-2024 school year, we are excited to partner with NCSD to support educators with funds so they can pursue professional development opportunities outside of what is offered by the district. These fellowships help relieve some of the financial burden associated with attending conferences and seeking out learning opportunities in areas such as ELA,reading, digital learning, speech, music psychology, art and library practices.

Teacher Appreciation

Although the NEF appreciates NCSD staff all year round, we enjoy celebrating our amazing educators and support staff during Staff Appreciation Week, which falls on the first full week in May. Every year, we join together with community partners to show our gratitude for the hard work and amazing things NCSD staff does, with things like a free cup of coffee or tea, a sweet treat from a local bakery, a slice of pizza, or even a complimentary car wash. Community members can also show their appreciation for teachers by nominating them to be entered into a raffle to win a day off, courtesy of the superintendent and other administrators who will be guest teacher for the day!
